Nestled in the North Boynton industrial district amongst other craft beer manufacturing sits Boynton Beach’s fourth craft beer company. Considered a concept brewery the client required our firm to help with site selection, feasibility and full design-build services.

Getting a five-barrel system with five- five barrel fermenters, two fifteen barrel fermenters, large walk-in cooler and a tasting room for fifty patrons created a lack of space problem. It was necessary for our firm to invent space saving solutions to ensure the NOBO team would be effective during their necessary brew days and still keep the tasting room open to the public. All the necessary utilities required for a brewery to function were easily condensed into the space. Locating the brew house close to the incoming gas connection, as well as the tasting room taps to the backside of the walk-in cooler were just some of the spatial solutions to help free up wasted circulation space. Plenty of vertical height within the space allowed for a mezzanine storage area for clean unused kegs barrels, and excessive grain storage.

To abandon the kitsch interiors of trendy craft breweries (the overuse of palette wood and pipe furniture), our firm guided the client to harness the thematic interior of the industrial themes of the prohibition era. Clean white subway tile with contrasting grout adorns the bar and back bar wall. Industrial style seating of black metal chairs, wood top tables, and warm taupe colors furnish the space. What really makes the space unique are the randomly hanging light socket light fixtures reminiscent of the early 20th century factories. Antique historic photographs during the repeal of the 18th amendment (repeal of prohibition otherwise known as the 21st amendment) really tell the history of beer as we know it today.
