Initially a vanilla white project for our client the landlord this space quickly shaped into a full design build out for the crossfit tenant. Using the originally anticipated budget and timeline for a vanilla box our firm worked closely with the tenant for the layout and finishes as well as the contractor for the installation method. The space is complete with open ceiling with hard air conditioning ducts painted black, gym rubber flooring, and ample lighting. The sound isolation from neighboring tenants was a design concern. Our team enlisted the help of computer animation technology ECOTECT to hone in on the problematic areas. From that information our team was able to design tenant separation walls with quietrock with a certain STC rating, correct speaker placement and glass isolators helped to reduce the sound nuisance to expected levels without breaking the previously anticipated budget.
