Expanding upon the idea of the original location in East Boca, the client quickly realized the need for another location to benefit existing shoppers and to increase his target market. 4th Generation Organic Market is one of the few 100% organic grocers in the world.

Just under 12,000 square feet, this organic market includes all the appointments of an ordinary supermarket; large produce area, gourmet coffee stations, seafood, meat department, cheese and dairy, dry goods, frozen foods, deli and prepared meal area. Additional to the prepared meal areas is a large vegan display and juice bar. A small lounge area was created for shoppers to dine and doubles as an educational area for small lectures on healthy eating. The back of the house areas required special attention as a commercial sized kitchen with full hood and cleaning technologies was required in order to support the prepared food portion of the store. Due to the size of the interior of the adapted retail space, exterior improvements were required in order to allow outdoor coolers which attach to the inside of the market. Large compressor area was also created in order to provide ample utilities to the open refrigerated display cases.

The interior design was subtle to allow the foods to speak for themselves. Minor splashes of color helped to enhance the freshness and quality of the products that 4th generation offers to sell. Refrigeration pits under the slab ensured no overhead refrigeration was visible making the space clean and organized.
